About Xelma – a novel treatment

Xelma® is a novel treatment for hard-to-heal wounds without clinical signs of infection such as venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers.

This treatment of biological origin is novel because it is designed to restore the balance by replacing crucial components of the defective extracellular matrix. In clinical investigations, Xelma has been shown to improve hard-to-heal wounds.

Xelma is a sterile, ready-to-use product for topical application. Xelma consists of extracellular matrix proteins (amelogenins) in a viscous water solution of propylene glycol alginate.

  • Initiates wound healing in hard-to-heal wounds
  • Functions as a temporary matrix for cell attachment
  • Is easy to handle
